New Moms

Hi people,

How is it going? I hope everyone is doing great? sorry about the long hiatus oh...I am busy these days but I have not abandoned the blog at all.

Today I wanted to do a quick post on new moms and worrying about loosing all that baby fat once the baby comes out. I have friends who worry about when the pounds will drop off and some of them think it should happen the second the baby comes out. Well my friends, I just wanted to say please give it time. Concentrate on your new baby, bond as much as you can, take every moment in and cherish it and then weight loss will fall into the equation gradually.

It took me about a year after I had Nifemi to shed off my own baby weight. The week I had him I was 200lbs, six weeks after I went down to 180lbs and I was ecstatic hoping it would continue to go off..but NO...it did not oh..and I had to eat well cos I was breastfeeding and I was also indulging at the same time. Gradually it went off but I did not like how I looked. I knew I had to be in shape. Fast forward to about  8 months I decided to take charge and went on to adopt a new eating lifestyle. I cut off carbs slowly, hit the gym and was working hard towards getting to my desired size. Now I weigh 13*lbs :D. I still have to watch it especially cos I don't gym that often.

The whole point is to worry less about shedding the fat off. Some people loose it without any hassle and in the blink of an eye but if you are like me that has to work to get that body back, please take a deep breath, enjoy your baby and the moment. Breastfeeding is also a good way of shedding the baby weight. You lose certain amount of calories every time you breastfeed which is awesome and a good way to start shedding off the weight if you ask me.

I hope this helps someone out there. I would go back to posting pictures and recipes of some of my kitchen practicals..lol

Until next time,
Its not Miss Bee, its mummy..xxx
