Hello everyone,
How are you all doing? I want to say a big thank you to everyone that read Toyin's story. She certainly has inspired loads of people to take charge of their lives. I have some stories I am working on and I would post it once am done.
In the mean time, I just wanted to share some of the things I have been up to in my kitchen lately. It is so refreshing to be able to make your own food from the scratch at home. Lately I have been on some DIY quest to satisfy some cravings of mine and my son's. I made home made burgers with minced turkey and no oil :) I am looking forward to making my own bread rolls with the healthiest ingredients. I also made my own pesto sauce which is chilling in my freezer as we speak. I also make my own turkey balls and I want to try and make chili soup which my sister taught me how to make. The best part about making all these things:
- you get to control what goes in;
- you can substitute the ingredients and switch it up if you like;
- you save tons of money buying these same food from restaurants and getting better nutritional values from these meals;
- you get to have tons of options as to what to make when you are hungry and you do not have to wait to get a restaurant to get satisfy your craving;
It is also good to eat less processed foods because most of them are packed with so much sodium to preserve their shelf life for a long period of time which is not good for our body. Also, food poisoning is another thing to watch out for. For instance, the other day, I got a letter in the mail from Costco recalling a crab sandwich spread I had bought earlier in the year because it had been reported that the spread was spreading a non-communicable disease (I cant remember the exact name). I had finished mine at that point but thankfully nothing happened.
What are some of the foods you guys would normally go out to get but have decided to make at home. Please share your thoughts, thank you for stopping by :)
P.S: if you would like me to share some recipes I would be more than happy to and I look forward to seeing stuff that you guys do.
Until next time guys,
its not Miss Bee, its mummy..xxx
